The aim of the Lafferty Councils is to help our members serve their customers better, improve profitability and thereby generate long-term shareholder value.
The next set of Council meetings will take place at The Table Bay Hotel, Cape Town, South Africa, 22-25 January 2017, and are co-hosted by Barclays Africa.
22 January: Welcome dinner
23 January: The joint meeting of the RBCA's Retail Banking Councils and the International Retail Banking Council
24 January: The meeting of the Future Finance Forum
25 January: The joint meeting of the RBCA's Cards and Payments Councils, the International Cards and Payments Council and the Global Merchant Services Council.
Councils are independent forums where senior bankers and other industry leaders meet their peers in confidential sessions and work together to identify best practices and brainstorm the future of the industry. Each member also receives a tailored package of products and services — including access to global research databases, newsletters, management reports, research reports, conferences, online workshops and concierge services. Members are supported by a permanent secretariat for assistance on a day-to-day basis.
Current Councils include:
- International Retail Banking Council
- International Cards and Payments Council
- Global Merchant Services Council
- Retail Banking Councils for Africa
Councils have two identities for our members:
1. The council meetings that take place twice year
2. The tailored products and services provided to each member
The Councils director is Caroline Hastings — who is also available to assist members.
